From Brossard, the truck bypasses Montreal on Highway 30 and joins Highway 20 west, then follows Highway 401 along its whole length, through Kingston, Toronto and London, to Windsor, at the southwestern tip of Ontario. The trip is about 900 km.
We organize this route like our other long-distance moves: one crew and one truck dedicated to your move, furniture protected for the road and a schedule set with you.
Our company is based in Longueuil, a few minutes from Brossard. Whether it is a condo tower near Quartier DIX30 or Solar Uniquartier, or a single-family house, we organize the departure around your home. For a local move, see our Moving Brossard page.
In Brossard, newer towers often have a loading dock and specific rules: book the service elevator and check the height limit. For a house, clear the driveway the day before the move.
Windsor, Canada’s southernmost city, faces Detroit across the Detroit River. A major centre of the automotive industry, it is linked to the United States by the Ambassador Bridge and is home to the University of Windsor.
This route is not one of our published packages: we organize it like our other long-distance moves, with a price set by free quote. With nearly ten hours on the road, the move is planned over two days.
From Brossard, the truck avoids the island of Montreal on Highway 30, then joins Highway 20 west at Vaudreuil-Dorion into Ontario. It then follows Highway 401 through Kingston, crosses the Toronto area, and continues through London and Chatham to Windsor. The route stays entirely in Canada: the truck does not cross the U.S. border.
Allow about 9 hours 35 minutes of driving, not counting breaks: the trip is done over two days. The Toronto crossing is planned outside rush hour whenever possible. Windsor is in the same time zone as Quebec.
For a move of this distance, allow a few weeks of preparation: a detailed inventory, well-sealed and labelled boxes, and a list of valuables you keep with you. In Ontario, remember your driver’s licence, vehicle registration and OHIP registration.
Pack a suitcase for the two days on the road and your first days in Windsor. Let us know if any furniture needs to be taken apart or given extra protection.
In condo towers, book the service elevator and loading dock for a long enough time slot, and check the height limit if the truck has to enter a parking garage.
For a house, clear the driveway and check with the City of Brossard whether the truck can park on the street on moving day.
Windsor’s older neighbourhoods, near downtown and the river, have narrow houses with shared driveways; newer areas and the neighbouring towns of LaSalle and Tecumseh mostly have houses with garages.
Tell us if the driveway is shared, the floor and where the truck can park. Check on-street parking rules with the City of Windsor for moving day.
