From Longueuil, the truck stays on the south shore: it follows Highway 20 to Drummondville, then Highway 55, crosses the river on the Laviolette Bridge in Trois-Rivières and continues to Shawinigan. The trip is about 200 km.

When leaving Longueuil, clear the driveway or the space in front of your door the day before so the truck can park as close as possible. In an Old Longueuil tower or near the metro, book the service elevator and loading dock with building management.
Shawinigan grew in the early 20th century around the falls of the Saint-Maurice River and their hydroelectric plants. Since 2002, the city has also included Grand-Mère and Shawinigan-Sud, and it is the gateway to La Mauricie National Park.

From Longueuil, the truck gets straight onto Highway 20 and follows it east to Drummondville. It then takes Highway 55 north, crosses the St. Lawrence on the Laviolette Bridge in Trois-Rivières and goes up the Saint-Maurice valley to Shawinigan.
Allow about 2 hours 5 minutes of driving, not counting breaks. Over this distance, loading, the drive and delivery are usually done on the same day; the date and arrival time are agreed with you when you get your quote.
Make an inventory of your furniture and boxes, noting heavy or fragile items. Since the move stays within Quebec, you only need to update your address with the SAAQ, the RAMQ, Revenu Québec and your service providers.
Keep your documents, medication and keys close at hand, and pack a “first evening” box for your arrival in Shawinigan.
