Longueuil and Toronto are about 550 km apart. From the South Shore, Highway 30 goes around the island of Montreal to Vaudreuil-Dorion; from there, Highway 20 becomes Highway 401 at the Ontario border and runs straight to Toronto.
It is the longest Ontario route on our long-distance moving rate grid. Based in Longueuil, we plan the departure, the route and the arrival so that loading and delivery follow a clear schedule set with you.
Whether you are leaving a house in Saint-Hubert, a duplex in Old Longueuil or a condo near Longueuil metro station, we match the crew and truck to your volume. For a move within the city, see our Moving Longueuil page.
When leaving Longueuil, clear the driveway or the space in front of the door the day before so the truck can park as close as possible. In a tower in Old Longueuil or near the metro, book the service elevator and loading dock with building management.
In Toronto, most condo towers require you to book the service elevator and loading dock, often for a limited time slot, and some ask for proof of the mover’s insurance. Ask building management for these rules as soon as your date is set.
On a trip this long, an accurate inventory prevents surprises: list large furniture, count boxes and flag fragile items. On arrival in Toronto, keep a first-night box apart (bedding, toiletries, chargers) so you can settle in the very first evening.
Allow about 5½ to 6 hours of driving depending on traffic, plus loading and unloading. Traffic is often heavy on Highway 401 coming into Toronto, so we choose the departure time accordingly and confirm the delivery schedule with you when you get your quote.
Moving to another province also involves some paperwork: change of address, driver’s licence, Ontario health card, insurance. Put these in your calendar alongside your packing.
On the older streets of Old Longueuil, space in front of the door can be tight; in Saint-Hubert and Greenfield Park, a clear driveway makes loading easier. If a space needs to be reserved for the truck, check the City of Longueuil’s rules a few days before moving day.
In an apartment building or condo, book the service elevator and tell us the floor, the stairs and any heavy or fragile items. On such a long trip, well-protected furniture and boxes that are properly closed and labelled make unloading easier.
Downtown and along the lake, most condo towers require you to book the service elevator and loading dock for a set time, and some also ask the mover for documents. Contact building management as soon as your date is set.
In North York, Scarborough or Etobicoke, houses and townhouses often offer easier access. If the truck has to park on the street, check the City of Toronto’s rules. Late June and early July remain the busiest period: book several weeks ahead.
