Studio, room in a residence, small apartment or shared apartment: a student move often involves few large pieces of furniture, but many boxes, a bed, a desk and a few small appliances. Déménagement Bon Avenir adapts the crew and the truck to what you actually have to move.
We move students in Montreal, on the South Shore and on the North Shore, with a clear quote before moving day.
A studio, a 1 ½ or a 2 ½ can be moved quickly when everything is ready. For this type of home, the most common option is 2 movers with a 20-foot truck: the crew loads, transports and unloads your belongings, then places each box and each piece of furniture in the right room.
Ready to lend a hand? Our Our prices page also lists other options, such as a driver with a 20-foot truck, or 2 movers without a truck if you already have a vehicle. Moving a larger shared apartment? See our Residential moving page.
Leaving a student residence for a first apartment, moving out of a shared apartment or joining new roommates: every move has its own particularities. In a residence or an apartment building, check with the administration ahead of time — elevator booking, permitted moving hours, which entrance or loading dock to use — and send us this information with your request.
In a shared apartment, tell us clearly which furniture and which boxes belong to you. If several roommates are moving the same day to different addresses, mention it in your quote request so we can plan the trips.
Between the end of one lease and the start of the next, your belongings can wait in our Bon Cube mobile storage.
Here is what we most often move during a student move:
The truck arrives with the protective blankets, straps and handling equipment needed. Does a bed or a desk need to be taken apart to fit through the staircase? Our furniture assembly service takes care of it. Short on time to pack your boxes? See our packing and unpacking service.
We transport and position your appliances, but we do not make electrical or plumbing connections. Only have one or two items to move, such as a desk bought on Marketplace or a small refrigerator? Our furniture and appliance delivery service is a better fit.
Our crews move students everywhere in Montreal, including LaSalle and Lachine, on the South Shore, notably in Longueuil and Brossard, as well as in Laval and on the North Shore. The full list is on our cities served page.
For a local move, the price depends on the actual working time. With 2 movers and a 20-foot truck, the rate starts at $130/h, with a minimum of 2 hours of work plus 1 hour of travel. Floors, elevators and the number of boxes affect the duration. All our rates are listed on our Our prices page. For an instant estimate, use our moving price calculator.
Heading back to Quebec City, Sherbrooke or Trois-Rivières at the end of your studies? See our long-distance packages.
To choose your date with peace of mind, ideally book three to four weeks in advance. Late June and early July are the busiest period of the year: book as early as possible. From June 15 to July 10, the rate is to be confirmed depending on the date.
A lease ending earlier than planned, a room freed up at the last minute or a date that changes? We can mobilize a crew quickly, depending on availability at the time. See our last-minute moving page or call us at 514-703-6147.
