Laval, Quebec’s third-largest city, occupies Île Jésus, between the Rivière des Prairies to the south and the Rivière des Mille Îles to the north. It was formed in 1965 by merging the island’s 14 municipalities, whose names still identify its neighbourhoods: Chomedey, Sainte-Rose, Vimont, Duvernay or Pont-Viau.
Housing varies a lot from one area to the next: single-family and semi-detached homes with basements in Sainte-Rose, Fabreville or Vimont, apartment buildings in Chomedey and Laval-des-Rapides, and newer condo towers around Centropolis and Montmorency station.
We cover all of Île Jésus: Chomedey, Laval-des-Rapides, Pont-Viau, Duvernay, Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Vimont, Auteuil, Sainte-Rose, Fabreville, Sainte-Dorothée and Laval-Ouest.
We also serve Montreal, across the Rivière des Prairies, including Montréal-Nord, connected to Laval by the Pie-IX Bridge, and the cities of the North Shore, such as Terrebonne, Rosemère, Boisbriand and Sainte-Thérèse.
Laval is connected to Montreal by several bridges over the Rivière des Prairies: those of Highways 13 (Louis-Bisson Bridge), 15 (Médéric-Martin Bridge), 19 (Papineau-Leblanc Bridge) and 25 (Olivier-Charbonneau Bridge), as well as the Lachapelle, Viau and Pie-IX bridges. Highway 440 crosses the island from east to west. The metro’s Orange Line serves Cartier, De la Concorde and Montmorency stations, and exo’s Saint-Jérôme train line stops at Vimont and Sainte-Rose stations, among others.
For a move to Montreal, the most practical bridge depends mainly on the destination address: Highway 13 leads to the west of the island, Highway 15 to the centre and Highway 25 to the east.
In an apartment building in Chomedey or Laval-des-Rapides, tell us the floor and whether there is an elevator: a 4½ on the third floor with no elevator does not take the same time as a ground-floor unit. For a house, walk through the basement and garage before requesting your quote: that is often where the heavy items are, such as appliances, exercise equipment or tools.

Yes, in both directions. If you are moving into a home in Montreal, check with the borough whether a permit is needed to reserve a parking space in front of the building: the rules vary from one borough to another.

Yes. Late June and early July are the busiest period of the year: prices vary and each order is discussed individually. For that period, book as early as possible; the rest of the year, three to four weeks ahead is usually enough.
