Montréal-Nord is a borough in the northeast of the island of Montreal, bordered to the north by the Rivière des Prairies and Gouin Boulevard East. It is one of the most densely populated parts of the city: its streets are lined with duplexes, triplexes and small apartment buildings, most of them built between the 1950s and the 1970s, with a few single-family homes near the river. Henri-Bourassa Park is its main green space.
Most moves here involve tenants, with a very sharp peak around July 1st. Déménagement Bon Avenir serves Montréal-Nord all year round and adapts the crew and the truck to the home, the floor and the street.
We cover the whole borough: the Nord-Est sector and its large rental buildings, the residential streets around Henri-Bourassa Park and Charleroi Street, the western sector near Saint-Michel Boulevard, and the quieter streets along Gouin Boulevard East, by the river.
We also serve the neighbouring areas: Saint-Michel, Saint-Léonard, Anjou and Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, as well as Laval, across the Pie-IX Bridge.
Saint-Michel, Pie-IX, Lacordaire and Langelier Boulevards cross the borough from north to south, while Henri-Bourassa and Léger Boulevards cross it from east to west. On Pie-IX, the SRB rapid bus uses the centre lanes and stopping is very limited; on some major roads, bus-only lanes also apply at rush hour. When your home faces one of these boulevards, we park the truck on a side street or in an authorized spot and plan the extra carrying time accordingly.
For a move to Laval, the Pie-IX Bridge is only a few minutes away. Downtown or to the South Shore, we reach Highway 40 via Pie-IX or Saint-Michel Boulevard, avoiding rush hour as much as possible.
The outdoor spiral staircases typical of duplexes and triplexes make it hard to get large furniture through. When needed, we take apart beds, tables and sofas, protect the steps and railings, and sometimes add an extra mover for a second or third floor. In small walk-up buildings, the indoor staircase is often narrow, so measure your largest pieces ahead of time.
Around July 1st, several moves often happen on the same street at the same time. Book early, ask the borough for a parking permit if one is needed, and agree with the previous and next tenants on the time the keys will be handed over.

The end of June and early July is the busiest time of the year. We recommend booking several weeks ahead: during this peak period, prices vary and each order is discussed individually.
On Pie-IX, the centre lanes are reserved for the SRB rapid bus and stopping is very limited; other major roads have bus-only lanes at rush hour. In that case, we park the truck on a side street or in an authorized spot. Give us the exact address when you request your free quote so we can plan the truck’s position ahead of time.
Yes, it is a short move we do often: the Pie-IX Bridge links Montréal-Nord directly to Laval, and we plan the departure outside rush hour whenever possible.
