Boisbriand, in the Thérèse-De Blainville RCM, stretches along the Rivière des Mille Îles at the gateway to the Lower Laurentians. For decades the city grew around the General Motors assembly plant, which opened in 1965 and closed in 2002. The Faubourg Boisbriand was built on the former plant site, a district that mixes shops, condos and townhouses, where the first stores opened in 2007.
The rest of the city is mostly established residential neighbourhoods, with single-family and semi-detached homes that often have a basement, a garage and a yard.
We cover the whole city: the Faubourg Boisbriand and the Grande-Allée Boulevard area, the residential streets along Chemin de la Grande-Côte and the Rivière des Mille Îles, and the neighbourhoods on both sides of Highway 15.
We also serve the neighbouring North Shore towns: Blainville, Sainte-Thérèse, Rosemère, Lorraine and Mirabel, as well as Laval across the river and Montreal.
Highway 15 runs through Boisbriand, Highway 640 connects it east–west to the other North Shore towns, and Highway 13 serves the west side of the city. Highways 13 and 15 both lead to Laval and Montreal. Chemin de la Grande-Côte runs along the Rivière des Mille Îles and serves many residential streets.
At rush hour, the bridges over the Rivière des Mille Îles and the Highway 15/640 interchange are often busy. In the west end of the city, Highway 13 offers another route to Laval and Montreal, depending on the destination address.
In Faubourg Boisbriand buildings, book the elevator if there is one and check with building management where the truck can park. For a condo or an apartment, 2 movers and a 20-foot truck are often enough.
In the residential neighbourhoods, the contents of the basement, garage and shed often add up to a large volume, so include them in your inventory. In older homes, basement stairs can be narrow, so tell us about any bulky furniture down there. For stores in the Faubourg and for offices, see our commercial moving service.
