Blainville, in the Thérèse-De Blainville RCM, is one of the larger cities on Montreal’s North Shore, with just over 61,000 residents in 2024. Incorporated as a city in 1968, it is named after Jean-Baptiste Céloron de Blainville, a former seigneur, and lies north of the Rivière aux Chiens, which forms its southern boundary.
The city is mostly single-family homes, many of them recently built with a garage and a finished basement, along with townhouses and condos. It is also known for its many parks and bike paths and for the Le Fontainebleau golf club.
We cover the whole city, including the Fontainebleau, Côte-Saint-Louis, Plan-Bouchard, Chante-Bois, Hirondelles, Renaissance and Blainvillier sectors, as well as the areas along Curé-Labelle Boulevard and Highway 15.
We also serve the other North Shore towns: Sainte-Thérèse, Boisbriand, Rosemère, Lorraine, Mirabel and Terrebonne.
Highway 15 runs through Blainville and connects it to Laval and then Montreal, while Curé-Labelle Boulevard (Route 117) connects the city to Sainte-Thérèse and the neighbouring towns. Blainville station, on exo’s Saint-Jérôme line, is also a landmark for many residents.
At rush hour, Highway 15 and Curé-Labelle Boulevard are often busy, especially southbound toward Laval in the morning and northbound in the late afternoon. For a move to Laval or Montreal, a mid-morning start is often smoother.
For a new or recently built home, check access to the driveway on moving day, especially if construction is still under way on the street, and let us know if the truck may not be able to park in front of the house. For a full house, we usually recommend 3 movers with a 30-foot truck; for a condo or a townhouse, 2 movers and a 20-foot truck are often enough.
The contents of the garage, basement and shed often add up to a large volume, so include them in your inventory. For an office or a store, see our commercial moving service.
