Gaspé is our farthest destination within Quebec: more than 900 km separate Longueuil from the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula. The truck follows Highway 20 east along the south shore of the St. Lawrence, then Route 132 around the peninsula to Gaspé.
This long-distance move takes more preparation than the others: furniture protected for a long drive, and a loading schedule and delivery date planned with you when you get your quote.
Based in Longueuil, we know Old Longueuil, Saint-Hubert, Greenfield Park and LeMoyne well. For a local move, see our Moving Longueuil page.
On loading day in Longueuil, gather the boxes that are already sealed in one room and set aside what you will carry yourself: important papers, keys, medication and valuables. Our movers can then load the truck in the right order without losing time.
In Gaspé, homes are often spread out and access may be by a gravel or sloped driveway. Describe the access to the property, the parking space for the truck and whether there is a basement or upper floor, so the crew arrives with the right equipment.
On such a long trip, a complete inventory is essential: large furniture, number of boxes, fragile items and appliances. Keep a first-night box and your important documents with you; in Gaspé, one person on site shows where each piece of furniture goes.
Allow about ten hours of driving, depending on weather and traffic, plus loading and unloading. The delivery schedule is set with you when you get your quote.
Over such a distance, it pays to sort before you go: every piece of furniture or box you leave behind reduces the volume. Then make a full inventory, including the garage, basement and shed.
Close your boxes securely, label them by room and group fragile items together. Furniture is wrapped in protective blankets and mattresses go into bags, as included in our rates.
If a space needs to be reserved for the truck in front of your door, check the City of Longueuil’s rules. For an apartment, book the elevator and tell us the floor.
In Gaspé and in sectors such as Rivière-au-Renard, Haldimand or Sandy Beach, houses often have large lots and gravel driveways. Tell us the distance between where the truck can park and the door.
Wind and snow can make the road harder in winter, especially along the coast. We follow road conditions and stay in touch with you until delivery.
