From Brossard, Highway 30 runs close by and goes around the island of Montreal to Vaudreuil-Dorion; Highway 20 then becomes Highway 401 in Ontario all the way to Kingston, about 295 km or nearly 3 hours of driving.
This route has no published package: like our other long-distance moves, it is priced by quote, based on your volume, access and date, and the schedule is confirmed with you at that stage.
From November 15 to April 15, overnight parking bans may apply on Brossard streets: if loading starts early, check the City’s notice the evening before and keep the driveway and the space in front of the door clear of vehicles and bins.
In Kingston, overnight on-street parking is prohibited from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. in January and February, and in December and March when the City declares a ban. In a tower, book the service elevator and loading dock as soon as your date is set.
For an accurate quote, give us both addresses, the floor and elevator at each end, your preferred date, a list of large furniture and heavy items, and what is in the garage, basement or storage locker.
Photos of the fullest rooms also help us estimate the volume. Our company is based in Longueuil, a few minutes from Brossard; for a local move, see our Moving Brossard page.
On loading day in Brossard, gather the boxes that are already sealed in one room and set aside what you will carry yourself: important papers, keys, medication and valuables. Our movers can then load the truck in the right order without losing time.
Allow about 3 hours of driving, plus loading and unloading. The departure time and delivery schedule are confirmed with you when you get your quote.
For a house, think of the garage, basement and shed; for a condo, the storage locker. A complete list of your furniture and boxes lets us set a fair price.
In condo towers, book the service elevator and loading dock with management, and check the height limit if the truck has to enter a parking garage.
For a house, keep the driveway clear and check with the City of Brossard whether the truck can park on the street on loading day.
Downtown and around Queen’s University, older houses and upstairs units take more planning; elsewhere, houses with private driveways make unloading simpler.
Check the City of Kingston’s parking rules and, for a building, book the elevator with management. Also plan the paperwork for your change of province.
