Moving Longueuil to Sept-Îles

Long-distance move between Longueuil and Sept-Îles

From Longueuil, the truck follows Highway 20 to Lévis, crosses the river on the Pierre-Laporte Bridge, then takes Route 138 through Charlevoix and the Tadoussac ferry to Sept-Îles, on the Côte-Nord. The trip is about 920 km.

We organize this route like our other long-distance moves: one crew and one truck dedicated to your move, furniture protected for the road and a schedule set with you. The price is set by free quote, based on your volume, access and date.

Our company is based in Longueuil, so the truck leaves from close to your home. A Saint-Hubert house, an Old Longueuil plex or a condo near the metro: we plan the crew according to your volume. For a local move, see our Moving Longueuil page.

Before leaving Longueuil, check with the City whether the truck can park on the street on loading day, and clear the driveway the day before. In a condo building, book the service elevator for the whole loading time.

In Sept-Îles, Route 138 is the only road link to the rest of Quebec: we check road conditions before leaving and plan the Saguenay crossing. In town, houses and apartment buildings share the neighbourhoods around the bay; describe the access and where the truck can park.

With about 25,000 residents, Sept-Îles is the largest city on the Côte-Nord; the Moisie and Clarke City sectors are also part of the city, so specify the sector of your new address.

For a trip of more than 900 km, prepare a detailed inventory of furniture, boxes and fragile items. Keep your documents, a first-night box and the keys with you; in Sept-Îles, one person on site guides unloading room by room.

The route from Longueuil to Sept-Îles

After Quebec City, Route 138 crosses Charlevoix through Baie-Saint-Paul and La Malbaie to Baie-Sainte-Catherine. The free ferry to Tadoussac runs 24 hours a day and the crossing takes about ten minutes; the road then continues through Forestville, Baie-Comeau and Port-Cartier to Sept-Îles.

Allow about 10 hours 45 minutes of driving, not counting breaks or the wait at the ferry, which can be longer in summer: a trip of this length usually takes more than one day. The delivery date is agreed with you when you request your quote.

Preparing your move from Longueuil to Sept-Îles

A move to the Côte-Nord requires a little more organization: a detailed inventory, clearly labelled boxes and a list of valuables you transport yourself. Pack a suitcase for the road and the first days, before unloading.

In winter, conditions can change quickly on Route 138: we check Québec 511 before leaving and adjust the schedule if needed. Also let us know if some furniture needs to be taken apart or better protected.

Leaving Longueuil: access and parking

Clear the driveway or the space in front of your door the day before. If the truck has to park on the street, check the City of Longueuil rules for your moving date.

In Old Longueuil towers or near the metro, book the service elevator and loading dock for a long enough time slot, and tell us where the delivery entrance is.

Arriving in Sept-Îles: access and parking

Sept-Îles stretches around its bay, with neighbourhoods of single-family homes and apartment buildings of a few storeys. In buildings, ask about access by stairs or elevator and the entrance closest to the parking area.

Tell us where the truck can park on arrival. In winter, snow-removal parking rules may apply: check them with the City of Sept-Îles for your moving date.

How the price of a move to Sept-Îles is set

This route is not one of our published packages: the price is set by quote, based on your move. It mainly depends on four things:

  • Volume: the number of rooms, pieces of furniture and boxes to load, which determines the truck and crew;
  • Access: floors, outdoor stairs, elevator and the distance between the truck and the door, at both ends;
  • Date: prices may vary during the peak period, in late June and early July;
  • Added services, such as packing, a piano or a pool table.

Contact us for a free, no-obligation quote: give us both addresses, your preferred date and a list of your furniture. You can also call us at 514-703-6147.
