From Brossard, the truck crosses to Laval and takes Highway 15 north, then Route 117 through Mont-Laurier and the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve to Val-d’Or, in Abitibi. The trip is about 540 km.
We organize this route like our other long-distance moves: one crew and one truck dedicated to your move, furniture protected for the road and a schedule set with you.
Our company is based in Longueuil, a few minutes from Brossard. Whether it is a condo tower near Quartier DIX30 or Solar Uniquartier, or a single-family house, we organize the departure around your home. For a local move, see our Moving Brossard page.
In Brossard, newer towers often have a loading dock and specific rules: book the service elevator and check the height limit. For a house, clear the driveway the day before the move.
Val-d’Or grew out of gold mining in the 1930s and remains an important mining town in Abitibi-Témiscamingue. It is also the gateway to the region for those arriving from the south on Route 117.
This route is not one of our published packages: we organize it like our other long-distance moves, with a price set by free quote. There are few services across the La Vérendrye reserve, so the driving schedule is planned accordingly.
From Brossard, the truck reaches Highway 15 north through Laval to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, then Route 117 through Mont-Tremblant and Mont-Laurier. The road then crosses the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve before reaching Val-d’Or.
Allow about 6 hours 30 minutes of driving, not counting breaks. Gas stations are scarce in the reserve and winter can slow traffic: depending on loading time, delivery happens the same day or the next, as agreed when you get your quote.
Make an inventory of your furniture and boxes, and tell us about heavy or fragile items. The move stays within Quebec: update your address with the SAAQ, the RAMQ and your service providers.
Pack a suitcase for the trip and your first days in Val-d’Or, and keep important documents and keys with you.
In condo towers, book the service elevator and loading dock for a long enough time slot, and check the height limit if the truck has to enter a parking garage.
For a house, clear the driveway and check with the City of Brossard whether the truck can park on the street on moving day.
Val-d’Or mostly has single-family homes and two- or three-storey apartment buildings; near downtown, around 3e Avenue, streets are narrower.
Tell us where the truck can park and whether there are stairs. Winter is long in Abitibi: have the driveway and sidewalk cleared, and check snow-removal parking rules with the City.
This route is not one of our published packages: the price is set by quote, based on your move. It mainly depends on four things:
