From Brossard, the truck follows Highway 20 to Lévis and crosses to Quebec City, then Highway 73 and Route 175 through the Laurentides wildlife reserve, before taking Route 169 to Alma, on Lac Saint-Jean. The trip is about 480 km.
We organize this route like our other long-distance moves: one crew and one truck dedicated to your move, furniture protected for the road and a schedule set with you.
Our company is based in Longueuil, a few minutes from Brossard. Whether it is a condo tower near Quartier DIX30 or Solar Uniquartier, or a single-family house, we organize the departure around your home. For a local move, see our Moving Brossard page.
In Brossard, newer towers often have a loading dock and specific rules: book the service elevator and check the height limit. For a house, clear the driveway the day before the move.
Alma, on the east side of Lac Saint-Jean, is crossed by the Grande Décharge River, which powers one of the region’s large aluminum smelters. It is the largest city in the Lac-Saint-Jean area, known for its beaches, the Véloroute des Bleuets cycling trail and its lively summers.
This route is not one of our published packages: we organize it like our other long-distance moves, with a price set by free quote. The crossing of the Laurentides reserve, at higher altitude, calls for close attention to the weather in winter.
From Brossard, the truck follows Highway 20 to Lévis, then crosses to Quebec City on the Pierre-Laporte Bridge. It then takes Highway 73 toward Stoneham and Route 175, which crosses the Laurentides wildlife reserve for about 150 km, before turning onto Route 169 through Hébertville to Alma.
Allow about 5 hours 20 minutes of driving, not counting breaks. Route 175 is a four-lane divided road, but the terrain and snow can slow traffic in winter; depending on loading time, delivery happens the same day or the next, as agreed when you get your quote.
Make an inventory of your furniture and boxes, noting heavy or fragile items. The move stays within Quebec: update your address with the SAAQ, the RAMQ and your service providers.
Pack a suitcase for the road and your first days in Alma, and keep important documents, medication and keys with you.
In condo towers, book the service elevator and loading dock for a long enough time slot, and check the height limit if the truck has to enter a parking garage.
For a house, clear the driveway and check with the City of Brossard whether the truck can park on the street on moving day.
Alma spreads along both sides of the Grande Décharge, with Île d’Alma in the middle. You mostly find single-family homes with driveways and two- or three-storey apartment buildings, often with outdoor staircases.
Tell us the type of staircase and where the truck can park. In winter, have the driveway cleared and check snow-removal parking rules with the City of Alma.
