Ville-Marie, Montreal’s central borough, covers 16.5 km² between Mount Royal and the St. Lawrence River. It includes downtown, Old Montreal and Saint Helen’s and Notre Dame Islands, home to Parc Jean-Drapeau.
Housing here is mostly towers mixing offices, shops and homes, condo buildings, and buildings with shops on the ground floor and apartments above.
We cover the whole borough: Old Montreal and the Old Port, downtown and the Quartier international, the Latin Quarter, Chinatown, the Quartier des spectacles, the Village, the Cité du Multimédia, Cité du Havre and the Sainte-Marie sector.
We also serve nearby boroughs and cities: Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, Westmount, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, Côte-des-Neiges, Verdun and Nuns’ Island, as well as the rest of Montreal.
The Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) crosses the borough from east to west, partly underground, and the Bonaventure Expressway (Highway 10) ends there. The Jacques-Cartier Bridge connects Ville-Marie to Longueuil, and the Concorde Bridge leads to the islands. The green, orange and yellow metro lines meet at Berri-UQAM, and the REM leaves from Central Station. The main streets are Sainte-Catherine Street, René-Lévesque Boulevard and Sherbrooke Street.
Street parking is limited downtown, so give us the exact address and the entrance to use (main door, loading dock or lane) so we can plan where to park the truck.
In towers, you need to book the service elevator and often the loading dock, within the hours allowed by the building. In Old Montreal, some streets are cobbled, narrow or have restricted traffic. Depending on the street, a permit may be needed to reserve a parking space in front of your home, so check with the borough a few days before moving day.
For a studio or an apartment, 2 movers with a 20-foot truck are often enough. For an office in a downtown tower, see our commercial moving service.
