Pierrefonds is part of the Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough, in the northern West Island, along the Rivière des Prairies. The borough stretches from Bois-de-Liesse Nature Park in the east to Cap-Saint-Jacques Nature Park in the west. Most homes, bungalows and split-levels, date from the 1960s and 1970s, with townhouses and apartment buildings along the main boulevards.

Pierrefonds Boulevard crosses the area from east to west and Gouin Boulevard West runs along the river. Saint-Jean, Sources and Saint-Charles Boulevards lead south to Highway 40, while Highway 13, to the east, gives access to Laval and the airport. For a move downtown, we choose the route based on the departure time to limit time spent in traffic.
On Gouin Boulevard, which is narrow in places, we find a safe spot for the truck ahead of time, sometimes on a side street.
In a bungalow or split-level, much of the volume is in the basement and the garage: heavy furniture, exercise equipment, tools. For a full house, we usually recommend 3 movers with a 30-foot truck; for an apartment, 2 movers and a 20-foot truck are often enough.
The riverside areas were hit by the spring floods of 2017 and 2019. If you are moving near the river in spring, check access to your street a few days before the date and tell us about any closure or restriction.
