Montréal-Est is an independent city at the eastern end of the island of Montreal, founded in 1910. Merged into Montreal in 2002, it was reconstituted as a city in 2006 and belongs to the Montreal agglomeration. With 4,394 residents in 2021, it is one of the least populated municipalities on the island, even though its territory covers about 12 km².
Most of that territory is industrial: oil refining has been part of the city’s history since 1915. Homes are concentrated in the southern part of the city, near Notre-Dame Street, with single-family houses, duplexes, small apartment buildings and more recent condo buildings.
We cover the whole city, including the residential streets near Notre-Dame Street, such as Broadway Avenue, Providence Avenue, Georges-V Avenue and Dorchester Street, as well as the businesses of the industrial area.
We also serve the neighbouring areas: Pointe-aux-Trembles and the rest of Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles, Anjou and Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve.
Notre-Dame Street and Sherbrooke Street cross Montréal-Est from west to east, and the Metropolitan Expressway (Highway 40) runs through the north of the city. Notre-Dame Street is also used by trucks serving the industrial area: if your home is on this street, tell us where our truck can park, for example on a side street or in a driveway.
