Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, or NDG, is one half of the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough and had about 68,000 residents in 2021. It stretches from Claremont Avenue, on the Westmount side, to Montreal West, and from Côte-Saint-Luc Road down to Highway 20 and the Saint-Jacques escarpment.
Its streets are lined mostly with red-brick duplexes and other plexes, with apartment buildings along the main roads. The Décarie Expressway, sunk below street level, divides the eastern part of the neighbourhood.
We cover all of NDG: Monkland Village, the Sherbrooke Street West and Somerled Avenue areas, the streets around NDG Park (Girouard Park), the area near Concordia’s Loyola campus, Benny Farm on Cavendish Boulevard and the area around the MUHC Glen site near Vendôme.
We also serve the neighbouring areas: Westmount, Montreal West, Côte-Saint-Luc, Hampstead and Côte-des-Neiges, the other half of the borough.
The Décarie Expressway (Highway 15) crosses NDG from north to south and leads to the Turcot Interchange and Highway 20, which runs along the south of the neighbourhood. The metro’s Orange Line serves Vendôme and Villa-Maria stations. Vendôme also connects with exo’s Vaudreuil-Hudson train line, which stops at Montréal-Ouest station as well, near the Loyola campus.
In an NDG duplex, the upper unit is usually reached by an indoor staircase, sometimes narrow or with a turn: tell us about large items such as a sofa, a box spring or a wardrobe so we can check that they will fit and plan the right protection.
Parking is tightest on Sherbrooke Street West and Monkland Avenue, where most of the shops are. A permit may be needed to reserve a space in front of the building: check with the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough a few days before moving day.
