Dorval, a city in the Montreal agglomeration on the shore of Lac Saint-Louis, has about 19,300 residents (2021 census). Founded in 1667 as a Sulpician mission, it became a city in 1903; merged into Montreal in 2002, it regained its city status in 2006. A large part of Montréal-Trudeau International Airport lies within its boundaries.
Most residents live in the southern part of the city, between Highway 20 and the lake, in single-family homes, semi-detached houses and apartment buildings. The northern part is largely taken up by the airport and business areas.
We cover the whole residential area: the streets along Lakeshore Road (Chemin du Bord-du-Lac) and Lac Saint-Louis, the historic village area around Martin Avenue, the neighbourhoods near Dorval and Pine Beach stations, as well as offices and businesses in the airport area.
We also serve the neighbouring West Island cities and boroughs: Pointe-Claire, Lachine, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Kirkland and Pierrefonds, as well as Montreal.
Highway 20 runs through Dorval and leads to downtown Montreal, while Highway 520 (Côte-de-Liesse Road) runs along the airport area. The two meet at the Dorval interchange. The city is also served by Dorval and Pine Beach stations on exo’s Vaudreuil–Hudson line, and by the VIA Rail Dorval station.
At rush hour, the area around the Dorval interchange and the airport is often busy. For a short move to Pointe-Claire or elsewhere in the West Island, Chemin du Bord-du-Lac can be an alternative to Highway 20 for addresses near the lake.
For a house with a basement or garage, a list of heavy items helps us plan the right number of movers: for a full house, we usually recommend 3 movers with a 30-foot truck. For an apartment, 2 movers and a 20-foot truck are often enough.
For offices and businesses in the airport area and along Côte-de-Liesse Road, see our commercial moving service.
